ECFS: European Cystic Fibrosis Society – Unified Identity Design Project
The European Cystic Fibrosis Society (ECFS) is the central body coordinating research and studies on cystic fibrosis across Europe. With numerous specialized entities and teams spread across the continent, there is a pressing need to unify communication and foster a sense of belonging within the group.
This global design project aims to create a tailored identity and strategy that brings the ECFS together. The objective is to identify and convey shared values, reinforce the Society’s expertise, and meet daily operational needs by developing a cohesive, impactful brand universe and an easy-to-use tools framework.
Key Project Steps:
1. Strategic Analysis
• In-depth study of ECFS: positioning, mission, vision, and values.
• Sector benchmarking to identify trends and opportunities for differentiation.
2. Brand Universe Creation
• Development of visual identity: logo, typography, color palette, and iconography.
• Creation of a graphic universe reflecting scientific rigor and the human-centered nature of medical work.
• Defining the brand’s tone of voice for accessible and engaging communications.
3. Daily Tools Development
• Design of essential materials: business cards, letterheads, brochures, etc.
• Creation of digital tools: website, email templates, and social media assets.
• Development of templates to streamline internal use (presentations, technical documents).
4. Deployment Strategy
• Action plan to integrate the identity across all touchpoints.
• Team training to ensure seamless and sustainable adoption of the tools and brand universe.
Added Value:
This global design approach, tailored to the medical sector, blends aesthetics and clarity. The hexagon was chosen as a central graphic element, symbolizing teamwork and cohesion. The project has strengthened ECFS’s credibility, enhanced its ability to attract new partners and patients, and unified its diverse teams.
